Alex Tosney is currently recruiting for a Medical Device Mechanical Engineer to join an awesome new research group who are aiming to make a real difference to human health and wellbeing and in doing so become a world leading health tech brand.
Focussing on the prevention, prediction, participation and personalisation of healthcare and utilising their ground-breaking technology, they will be bringing healthcare into the home and combining cutting edge technology with a patient first approach.
Set up by an experienced team of industry veterans, entrepreneurs & scientists they are looking to build their initial development team to be based in London and to have a real impact on the foundations of the company, the brand and the technology.
The Mechanical Engineer will work with the R&D Team to develop and instrument a specification plan. Once this plan has been developed the Mechanical Engineer will take the specification through all design stages through to production.
The ideal candidate for this vacancy will be degree qualified or equivalent in mechanical engineering or a related discipline, have previous experience with CAD design software and experience with microfluidic fabrication.
The successful applicant must have practical expertise of mechanical fabrication methods for the integration of a medical device with controller and movement mechanics, firmware, analysis software, power supplies, optics, microfluidics and consumables. The successful candidate should be familiar identifying, working with, and coordinating third party component suppliers, instrument assembly contractors and consumable manufacturers to produce a fully working proto-series, taking these through all development stages to final production. Practical experience of setting up and maintaining quality system testing to ensure the specification and all quality standards are met is essential.
