Production Scientist, ELISA project

Our client is a leading manufacturer of IVD tests and systems. As part of an ongoing development project, they now wish to appoint a Production Scientist who will join their dedicated team.

The main purpose of the role is to form assist in the development of an ELISA-based product and the subsequent transfer of the product to manufacturing, and to assist in the manufacture of the company’s line of medical diagnostic reagents according to a Quality Management Systems approach.

Main Tasks:
-Manufacture of development batches of kit materials including precise documentation of methods and results
-Participation in ELISA assay characterisation and stability studies
-Manufacture and processing of reagents for current company kits
-Calculating results and reporting of data.
-Investigating and adjusting out of specification reagents.
-Use and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
-Record keeping / documentation of manufactured items to ensure traceability.
-Use of computerised stock system (Syspro) and computerised document control (Q Pulse)
-Ensure compliance with the company quality policies, procedures and health and safety.

Knowledge / Skills Required:
-Scientific degree plus hands on experience with ELISA
-Technical competence, good problem solving and analytical skills
-Knowledge of cGMP systems.
-Computer literate
-Capable of working independently and creatively to achieve objectives
-Follow set procedures accurately.
-Good inter-personal skills, with ability to communicate effectively, to establish and develop working relationships internally and externally.
