Project Manager - NPD - Medical Devices - Cheshire - £comp - Wound Care - ISO 13485 - Budgeting - R&D - Supply Chain

A growing international company who develop and supply skin care and repair products have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to join the team. You will manage a global portfolio of R&D projects, communicating with suppliers, clients and colleagues at all levels. You will have a strong R&D background within medical devices.

Summary of main duties and responsibilities

1.Responsible for the day-to-day management of strategically important New Product Development projects (Class I-III Medical Devices, and OTC Pharmaceuticals) to meet UK, USA and European market demands.

2.Responsible for the day-to-day management of Margin Improvement activities in order to maximise profitability within the existing product portfolio.

3.Responsible for the drafting of business cases with the team for all new product development and operational projects, including development of NPV models, project plans, resource planning and budget.

4.Responsible for the establishment of new product supply chains, cost optimisation of these supply chain routes and hand-over to the Purchasing & Supply Chain team on project completion.

5.Responsible for tracking of all project spend (versus budget) and tracking of resource versus work-load.

6.Responsible for implementation of the businesses operational strategy for in-house and 3rd party manufacturing; including establishment of manufacturing infrastructure (clean room builds, factory set-up) purchasing of manufacturing equipment, process design, process scale-up and other engineering activities.

7.Responsible for leading the businesses manufacturing validation activities (IQ, OQ and PQ); both in-house and via 3rd parties.

8.Provision of project management support for Supply Chain projects (e.g. new supplier approval, establishment of new supply chain, establishment of 3rd party logistics providers).

9.To provide advice/support to the Principal Development Technologist, Senior Development Technologist and Development Technologists on project, development, verification and validation issues.

10.Responsible for leading cross-functional project teams, including facilitating regular project updates with all key project stakeholders in order to communicate progress, log risks/issues & assign actions to ensure project milestones are met.

Experience Required:

*BSc (Hons) in a life science with previous R&D experience within medical devices OR
Relevant PhD with focus on medical devices

*Prior project management experience is an advantage but not essential
*Knowledge and experience within wound care or dermatological products
