This new position is a unique & exciting proposition that will play a pivotal role in support the growth of a highly innovative Life Science Instrumentation organisation. Working from a home office, but reporting to a UK based Head Office, this position will take the lead role in opening up opportunities with the global Pharma & Biotech sector.
Our client is a young and dynamic organisation who have develop cutting edge instrumentation for the cell biology and genetics sector. They have enjoyed a high degree of success selling their kit into the global academic sector and are now creating a new position for a Business Development Manager who will take responsibility for developing high level collaborative relationships with key decision makers within Pharma and Biotech organisations. The successful candidate will be responsible for representing the organisation at global exhibitions, events and conferences, including presenting and delivering seminars. They will network with individuals across the Pharma and biotech sectors and will use their relationships and influencing skills to open up opportunities within the Pharma and Biotech sectors.
As Business Development Manager, you’ll be responsible for growing the commercial business in the pharma and biotech R&D sectors. This will involve creating strong relationships with new and influential clients within the sector to develop new business channels for the organisation. The company are looking for the successful candidate to identify potential areas for the use of their instrumentation specifically within cell biology and genetic research, including collaboration and new instrumentation sales.
Applicants should be degree qualified (or related lab experience) in a relevant biological science subject. PhD qualifications would be advantageous. A background in Life Science microscopy is essential and applicants must have a solid understanding of confocal/fluorescence microscopy techniques. In addition, you must have a proven background selling into the Pharma and Biotech Research communities, ideally with a global remit. You will have a successful track-record building relationships with key stakeholders and use these to influence and win new business opportunities for the organisation. You’ll bring to the role excellent communication skills - from presentations to negotiations. This is a UK based position but with global travel requirements. Previous experience selling into EMEA/Asia would be highly advantageous. Applicants must be fluent in English but additional language skills would be of benefit. You will have a full UK driving license and will be happy with global travel.
