Senior Materials Scientist

Job Purpose
The Senior Scientist will be working under the supervision of a principal scientist primarily late phase Pharmaceutical projects, either in the R&D stage or commercialised products. The main parts of the role will be to assist the foreign particulates and contamination portfolio, support R&D projects regarding the physical characterisation and solid form assessments of various chemical entities, both actives and excipients.

Key Responsibilities
Support the development of active pharmaceutical ingredients and drug products by offering regulated (GMP) high-quality physico-chemical analysis.
Complete all work in compliance with GMP principles
Be able to accurately communicate the outcomes of your experiments.
Make suggestions for how processes can be improved, Lean lab, etc...
Take an interest in your own personal development, seek out training, and look for opportunities to grow
Keep your work areas clean and tidy, and other housekeeping activities.
Be flexible; realise that timelines, priorities and requirements will change regularly and respond to these challenges positively
Take responsibility for knowing what needs to be done in a day, and doing it promptly
Interact directly with commercial team and clients
Present to fellow colleagues and / or at Scientific conferences and promote scientific abilities to various stakeholders.
Maintain up to date knowledge of scientific innovation and technological advancement related fields, and use it in alignment with organisational and business objectives.

Person Specification

Proven Pharmaceutical industry experience and minimum of a BSc in the related field.
Technical proficiency in various analytical and materials science related techniques.
Flexible and willing to travel
Quick learner, and able to adapt to the fast moving environment.
Optional knowledge of the Pharmaceutical industry / CRO interface.
Comfortable in presenting and communicating with various stakeholders.
