Our client is a leading chemical manufacturer and currently is recruiting an experienced production manager
The Production Manager will have a degree in Chemical engineering or chemistry with at least 5 years working within a cGMP manufacturing environment and also have management skills.
Manage the production activities.
Manage and continuously review the operation of plants for process efficiency in meeting production volume and cost plans demanded by the business.
Close collaboration with R & D in the introduction and validation of new products and processes in accordance with customer requirements.
Provide specialist engineering and product / process knowledge to ensure facilities under responsibility operate to design capacities.
Make proposals for upgrading as necessary via Projects and/or Plant Modifications.
Take the operational lead where appropriate for design and commissioning of new plant within agreed budgets and timescales.
Manage all fixed cost budgets under responsibility in line with Plan, including any agreed contingencies.
Manage the unit operating staff in fulfilling their tasks and responsibilities.
Ensure all aspects of performance management and personal development are incorporated via effective mentoring, coaching, delegation and monitoring activities.
The production manager will should have excellent communication skills and the ability to be flexible, innovative and self-motivated.
