QC Analyst - Biochemistry - GMP - Kent - £26k-£32k - Coagulation - Karl Fischer - HPLC - UV
A global diagnostics company requires an experienced QC Analyst to join its Kent facility. Your role will be to test and release raw materials, in-process intermediates, coagulation reagents and controls, and finished products to strict timescales, in order to support the business requirements. You will ideally hold a degree in Biochemistry, or a related subject, and have prior QC experience in a GMP environment.
May include some or all of the following:
*Testing of raw materials, in-process intermediates, coagulation reagents and controls, and finished products.
*Stability testing of products, as appropriate.
*Keeping accurate and detailed records of all laboratory work in accordance with company procedures.
*Ensuring that laboratory chemicals and consumables are stocked to prevent testing delays.
*Ensuring that equipment, instruments and facilities within the laboratory are calibrated, and kept serviceable.
*Responsibility for good housekeeping and general cleanliness of all areas in which the post holder is working.
*Supporting all QC activities.
*Ensuring good relations and communications with all members of the team. Responding politely and in a timely fashion to internal and external customers.
*Working with all members of staff to maintain and develop the positive progressive culture within the laboratory.
*Observing and complying with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
*Observing and complying with company Health and Safety Policies.
*Observing and complying with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
*Undertaking any other duties, either for this department or any other department within the business, which may be requested by the Line Manager.
Education / Experience:
*Preferably educated to degree level in a Biochemistry/Life Science subject or equivalent experience.
*Advantageous to have relevant experience of working in a GMP environment,
*Advantageous to have an understanding of biochemical, coagulation and general analytical techniques (e.g. Auto-analysers (coagulation) Karl Fischer, HPLC, UV spectroscopy and fluorometry).
Skills / Pre-requisites:
*Diligent and with a meticulous approach to all tasks, with a keen eye for detail
*Impressive, demonstrable track record and skills/experience gained within a similar position(s), at a similar level.
*Good IT skills e.g. Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
*Credible and confident communicator (written and verbal) at all levels.
*Ability to work accurately in a busy and demanding environment, adhering to strict deadlines/timescales.
*Strong analytical and problem solving ability.
*Good team player with a flexible approach.
*Good planning, organizational, and time management skills.
*Self-motivated with the ability to work proactively using own initiative.

*On the job training and other specific training will be provided as agreed and required.
