Synthetic Analytical Chemist - Chemicals - GCMS - Synthetic Chemistry - Perm - Oxford - £Comp

A world leading speciality chemical manufacturing business is currently seeking a Synthetic Analytical Chemist to join their team in Oxford on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for enthusiastic chemist with laboratory experience gained in synthetic and analytical chemistry who is keen to develop a successful career with a progressive business. You will have a varied role that will be divided between synthesis, analysis and performance testing of new components.

Synthetic Analytical Chemist Responsibilities

*Synthesis of a wide range of organic, inorganic or polymeric materials.
*Analysis including spectroscopy and chromatography.
*Testing of candidate options in a broad set of performance and harms tests
*Participate in project/activity teams, presenting results and conclusions of the work as required.
*Interact effectively with colleagues within the group, as well at third-party service providers.
*Oversee the maintenance and operation of certain laboratory equipment.

Synthetic Analytical Chemist Requirements

*You must possess a degree qualification in Chemistry/Analytical Chemistry or closely related field of study.
*Possess a strong background in analytical problem solving (theoretical & practical) ideally from the chemical industry.
*Very strong technical competencies with an aptitude for practical work, based on experience of working in a commercial laboratory.
*An excellent working knowledge and industrial experience in method development & validation of analytical equipment including HPLC, GCMS and GPC.
*Flexible and adaptable to a wide range of chemistry and laboratory tasks and able to deal with a high level of uncertainty. Experience working with minimal supervision in a commercial laboratory and understands the importance of EHS practices.
*Excellent communication and literature skills.
*Strong track record of technical problem solving (theoretical & practical)
