Quality Assurance Lead-Chemistry-UKAS-ISO17025-Bucks-£25k-£30k-CAPA - QMS

A leading food manufacturer requires a senior Quality Assurance Officer to join and lead its QA activities. Your role will be to develop, implement and maintain appropriate quality processes. You will be Quality Manager but have no supervisory duties. You will have proven QA experience within a UKAS or ISO 17025 environment and confident working without supervision.


Establish and implement cost effective and appropriate quality processes to ensure the effective laboratory management throughout the company. Design, manage and review quality and health and safety management processes and drive continuous improvements.


Quality Management:
Lead the team to ensure accurate implementation and analysis of agreed standards.
In depth awareness and implementation of legal requirements and relevant codes of practice/ISO 17025
Measures, evaluates and proposes continuous improvements on quality management systems.
Develop and manage continuous improvement systems.

Leads the team to ensure process activities are compliant with relevant Codes of Practice/ISO 17025.
Interpret trends and data and advice on corrective action strategy.
Examines consumer complaints and advises on trends and corrective actions.
Manage customer requirements - providing information and giving technical advice.
Defines corrective action strategies and evaluates if expert input is required.
Proposes ways of improving standards and compliance.
Designs new process measures as required.

Process Technology:
Ensures safe and appropriate quality production processes.

Ensure the new products and processes comply with the quality management systems.

Data and Knowledge Management:
Reports and trends on gathered data.
Gives advice based on existing generated data and knowledge.

Applying Technology to the Business:
Responsible for communicating technical information in a way that meets the needs of the target audience.

Health and Safety
Health and Safety co-coordination for laboratories.
Ensure compliance with H&S regulatory and company requirements.
Develop and drive improvement programmes.


*Degree in a science based subject- desirable but not essential
*Proven experience in a UKAS or ISO 17025 accredited lab
*A chemistry background is preferred but not essential
*Thorough working knowledge of quality management systems
*Auditor qualification
*Knowledge of H&S requirements in laboratories
