Victoria Walker is recruiting for an experienced Development Chemist to join a Derbyshire based chemical blending company on a permanent full time basis.
The company currently manufacture cleaning, correction and protection products for the car care and detailing markets, along with industrial blends and timber / wood treatments. The main purpose of this role will be research and development; formulation including mixing and blending; and general laboratory assistance and direction such as continued maintenance and improvement of the existing range of products. The ultimate aim of the role is growth of the company through expansion of the company's product base and market sector. Please note that this role will be split between development work within the lab, and follow up admin work to support existing systems. Flexibility with hours will be required according to workload deadlines. The company offers a salary upwards of £30,000, depending on skills and experience, and as the company grows, there may be opportunities for progression available within this sector of the business.
The responsibilities of this Development Chemist will include:
. Existing product evaluation and improvement
. Innovation and development of new products
. Product analysis
. Analysis of current/future markets for development
. Quality control of blends including viscosity, pH and colour testing
. Possible SDS authoring support
. Possible implementation of ISO standard(s)
The following skills and experience are required for this Development Chemist role:
. Significant proven industry experience in development, formulation, NPD and quality control
. Experience with SDS and QMS would be a distinct advantage
. The ability to guide the company in terms of innovation and suggestions to move the company forward
. Full clean driving licence
