Junior Formulation Technologist - Cosmetics - £18k-£20k -Dorset - R&D - NPD - Skincare - Bodycare - Makeup - Organic - Topical

A leading manufacturer of organic Health & Beauty products has an exciting opportunity for a Junior Formulation Technologist to join its team. Your role will be to assist in developing formulations for organic skincare products. You will have a higher qualification in Cosmetics Science or a Chemistry background with a cosmetics focus. Prior experience is advantageous.

Purpose:
You will champion the introduction of new and innovative products. The position will liaise either independently or via the Product Development & Compliance Manager with New Product Development, Production and QC to ensure the appropriate information regarding products (both current and those in development) is disseminated in a timely and agreed manner.

Role Responsibilities:
*To develop/assist in developing formulations according to briefs set by NPD.
*To stability test all developed products and ensure their stability and safety on the market.
*To assist with collation of data for preparation of Product Information Packs on all developed formulae.
*To carry out/assist with the preparation of samples for volunteer and clinical trials
*To carry out/assist with scale-up of new products.
*To assist in introducing the new formula to Quality Control team prior to launch.
*To support the R&D Team with replies to Customer Service queries.
*To assist QC Technician/Technical Department Coordinator in solving manufacturing quality control issues.
*To maintain laboratory stocks of raw materials.
*To maintain the laboratory in good working order and ensure all work is conducted according to accepted Health and Safety practice.
*To liaise with internal and external contacts regularly to ensure timely delivery of New Products to the market.
*To participate in in-house training and workshops.
*To act as a reference point for Purchasing in pursuing cost saving/alternative raw materials/alternative suppliers strategy
Experience Required:
*Chemistry Degree, preferably Cosmetic Science
*Work experience in the Cosmetic Industry is preferred but not essential
*Excellent organisation and planning skills
*Work with own initiative/adhere to process.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
*Genuine interest in organic health and beauty
*Good eye for detail and a passion for cosmetics
