Technical Production Manager - ELISA-GMP - Berks - £40k-£50k - Manufacturing - qPCR - Diagnostics - Veterinary - Animal Health

A growing diagnostics company urgently requires a Technical Production Manager to oversee the manufacture and development of the company's diagnostic kits. You will manage a current team of 2 with interviews currently on going to increase this to 4. You will need to have a technical understanding of the products as well as manufacturing expertise. This is a challenging and demanding role which will require excellent communication, management and organisational skills.

The company's products are mainly ELISA kits that test for the presence of diseases in Poultry and Swine. They are developing and selling a range of qPCR kits that also test for the presence of diseases in Poultry and Swine.

As technical production manager you will oversee the manufacture of these products. There will also be some hands on work especially with the ELISA products. This will involve processing of antigens, conjugation of antibodies, some degree of trouble shooting (if not easily solvable then the issue will be sent to R&D) and running of ELISA tests.

Machinery is being purchased (approx. cost £400,000) to mechanise the process of ELISA plate coating. Manufacturing is currently make around 30,000 plates per annum, by the end of 2018 this needs to be increased to at least 200,000 plates per annum - your role will be to facilitate this increase. The company have around 30 different ELISA tests so 30 different types of plates (most of them are made in a similar way) require manufacturing.

Qualifications and Experience Required

*Degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related subject
*Significant experience in a GMP production facility and of managing a production environment
*Understanding and experience in ELISA, assay development, qPCR
*Familiar with GMP/GLP.
*Familiar with managing production costs.
